After losing their opening game of the FIBA World Cup qualifiers, the national basketball team hopes to bounce when they take on Cameroon on Saturday, February 26 at the Dakar Arena in Senegal.

The team lost 56-68 to South Sudan in their opening game, while Cameroon was also defeated by Tunisia 55-51 in the group B matches that took place on Friday.

The Rwanda vs Cameroon game will get underway at 11 pm Kigali time.

Speaking about the match, Eli Kaje, a national team power forward told Times Sport that they are working on correcting a couple of aspects that they might have got wrong against South Sudan.

For example, he said their teamwork against the South Sudan was not satisfactory.

"Towards the end of the game, we didn't work together as a team. That might have affected us on the night. We are working on correcting that," he said.

Concerning Cameroon, he hinted at the threat they pose and promised to put in a lot of effort to get a positive result.

"We know the kind of opponent we are facing. We’ll approach the game with all effort,” he said.

"This match against Cameroon will be hard, and we are going to focus on attacking. We believe that we can win this match,” he noted.
