President Paul Kagame on Wednesday arrived in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania for a two-day working visit.
Upon arrival, Kagame was received by his host President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani at Nouakchott Oumtounsy International Airport.
According to a statement issued by the Office of the President, the two heads of state will hold a tête-à-tête followed by a bilateral meeting alongside their respective delegations.
"Following the bilateral talks, representatives from both delegations will sign a General Cooperation Agreement, strengthening opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in various fields,” reads part of the communique.
Possible areas of cooperation include defence and security, ICT and digitalization, mining, agriculture, investment promotion and more, the statement added.
It is expected that later in the day, President Ghazouani will then host Kagame for a tête-à-tête working dinner.
