Effective Wednesday, February 16 at 11:55pm, people can start to cast their votes for their favorite contestants for Miss Rwanda 2022 as voting opens to the public.
A total of 70 contestants passed nationwide auditions of the beauty contest held throughout the past three weeks with Kigali recording the highest representation with 29 contestants, followed by Eastern Province which has 14 representatives while each of Northern, Western and Southern Provinces has nine apiece.
Each of the contestants has now grabbed a number that the public will refer to while voting for them in an exercise that will run until February 26, the same date when the preselection will be held.
The preselection exercise will decide the top 20 that will progress to the boot camp with two contestants with the highest number of public votes guaranteed automatic tickets to the boot camp.
Voting for your favorite contestant will be done either online, using USSD code or QR code scanner on the contestant’s posts.
To vote using the USSD code method, dial *544*1* contestant’s number#. Online voting also opens via www.igihe.com
Besides being crucial to deciding two contestants who will make it to the boot camp after garnering the most votes, each contestant will get a share of 20% of the money obtained from their public votes. The money will assist in their project implementation.
