DJ BRIANNE, one of a few female disc jockeys in the country is set to entertain music lovers of Dubai on Valentine’s Day, February 14.
The upcoming DJ confirmed her headlining act in Dubai to The New Times in an exclusive interview on Monday.
DJ Brianne also revealed that she will play alongside DJ Dialo, one of the renowned disc jockeys in Rwanda, at ‘Fortune Apearl Hotel’ which is located in the middle of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
This is one of the shows that the fast-rising DJ will headline in the same city including a boat party which will attract different Rwandan musicians such as DJ Toxxyk, Jules Sentore and many others.
Talking with this publication, Brianne said that the development of performing in big cities around the world is always an opportunity to showcase Rwandan music which she believes can push it to greater heights.
She added that as a DJ, one has to play for different audiences and people from different cultures to improve disc jockeying skills and get other big gigs.
"DJs grow because of their audience, and by going places playing Rwandan music, our listeners will grow. This will push our music globally,” she said.
Besides the opportunity to perform in Dubai, DJ Brianne has headlined big shows such as ECO FEST in Sierra Leone, where she shared the stage with big artistes like Rema and London, and she was at AFRIMA awards 2021 with Platini P alongside producer Element.
Born in 1996, DJ Brianne real name Brianne Gateka, came into the spotlight during Covid-19 first lockdown inspired by the need to entertain people while at home.
She is now a top female DJ delivering good vibes in pubs and clubs of Kigali such as FUCHSIA (Cercle Sportif), Chillax, to mention a few.
