Singer Bwiza unveils plan to contest for Miss Rwanda 2022 crown
Friday, February 04, 2022

Up and coming female artiste Emerance Bwiza has announced that she has registered for Miss Rwanda 2022 and that she looks forward to joining the race for the beauty contest’s crown this year.

It is the second time the singer is pushing for a chance to participate in Miss Rwanda after a failed attempt back in 2019.

"It didn’t go according to plan in 2019 but I think this is the right time to try my chances,” she said in an interview.

The 22-year-old, who registered to participate in Kigali City auditions slated for February 12, is positive that participating in the contest is something she has been waiting for and only anticipates positive outcomes as long as her friends, family and her management, KIKAC Music, are ready to support her.

Besides being her childhood dream, Bwiza revealed to this publication that deciding to audition for Miss Rwanda was motivated by the confidence from people who have been encouraging her to give it a shot.

"My biggest motivation is that it has been my dream since I was young but people also had an impact on taking this decision because they showed confidence in me. Because I feel that I can do it, I said ‘let me go for it’,” she said.

Like every aspirant, Bwiza’s main target is to become Miss Rwanda 2022, a crown that requires a crown winner ample time to focus on initiatives that aim to impact the community.

Asked whether she would quit music in case she wins the crown, Bwiza said the crown can’t force her to quit the career she is doing now.

"It (becoming Miss Rwanda) can’t stop me from doing music. It would rather be a privilege and pride for the music industry to have an artist doing music and assuming Miss Rwanda duties at the same time,” she explained.

Auditions for Miss Rwanda 2022 continues this weekend, with aspirants in Southern Province waiting to audition at Credo Hotel in Huye on Saturday, February 5, before the upcountry auditions conclude with the search for Eastern Province representatives slated on Sunday, February 6, at Silent Hill Hotel in Kayonza District.
