RENOWNED RWANDAN AFRO-BEAT star Mani Martin is set to release an extended play (EP) dubbed ‘Tunes of The People'.
The four track piece is already taking over local airwaves and TVs with only two releases that dropped on January 20.
Despite covid-19 that hindered the progress of Mani Martin’s music, the ‘Destiny’ hit maker told The New Times that he is now ready to return in the industry with bangers that are going to have a huge impact in the partying life of Kigali.
The upcoming piece which Mani Martin describes as Afro Urban is a mixture of urban sounds and afro percussion.
Talking about what inspired him to name his EP ‘ Tunes of The People’ or sounds of the people, Mani martin said that while quarantined in 2021, he took time and connected with his fans and decided to make music for the people and the community around him.
"The title itself says it all. One of the lessons I learned during this period of growth in my life is that our passion should serve ourselves and the communities," he said.
‘Tunes of The People’ was produced by some of the best merging music producers like Element, Nizbeatz, and Kennypro.
About how the Rwandan music industry stands at the moment, Mani Martin said, it is still fighting to make it to the top, but any music lover can notice progress which we hope to have a huge impact on local music.
"Many talents are merging now and they all have potential. Our music has started being played on some renowned international TV and radio stations. There is so much to be proud of however, we still need a clear structure in our industry,” he added.
"Jelasi" and "Something” are some of the songs on the tracklist which are already on all online streaming platforms.
