Rayon Sports head coach Roberto Oliveira Gonçalves do Carmo, commonly known as Robertinho, has lauded the qualities of the club’s new striker Aziz Bassane Koulagna.

The 22-year-old Cameroonian forward joined the Blues from Coton Sport Garoua during this transfer window.

He has already participated in several training sessions with Rayon Sports, where he has impressed the Brazilian tactician.

"Aziz is an excellent addition to our squad. His contributions in training have been outstanding, and I believe he will significantly strengthen our team for the upcoming season," Robertinho said.

During a training session on Thursday, August 15 in Nzove, Robertinho emphasised the importance of being in top form for the opening matches.

"We need to be at our best physically and mentally from the start of the season," he noted.

He pointed out Bassane's attributes including his speed, aggresiveness and goal-scoring ability.

"Yesterday, he scored four or five goals in training. His potential is evident," he said.

Rayon Sports will kick off their 2024/2025 league campaign on Saturday, August 17 against Marines at 15:00 at Kigali Pelé Stadium.
