Ugandan forward Emmanuel Okwi has signed for AS Kigali despite previously agreeing to return to his former club Kiyovu Sport.

The veteran attacker appended his signature to a one-year deal with the Citizens as he opted against joining his ex club.

Okwi spent one successful season with Kiyovu before leaving for Iraq in 2022 where he played for Al Zawraa and Erbil SC respectively.

Reasons for Okwi's sudden change of mind to join AS Kigali remain a mystery but according to close sources, the offer tabled by the Citizens was too good to resist.

Elsewhere, Musanze FC have signed Nigerian forward Johnson Adeaga Adeshola on a two-year deal.

The left footed striker spent four fruitful years at Gorilla FC before being released at the end of the 2023/24 season when his contract expired.
