Bank of Kigali has appointed Bonaventure Urimube as Chief Credit Officer, a new position recently created by the country’s biggest lender.
Until his appointment, Urimube served as the Bank’s Head of Credit Department since 2017.
Under his new docket, however, BK says that he will lead the Credit Division in its essential duties of credit analysis and due diligence, credit documentation, loan monitoring, credit analytics and reporting, as well as loan recovery.
"We are delighted to have appointed Bonaventure Urimube as Chief Credit Officer. His leadership and expertise make him a valuable addition to the Executive Committee as we continue to position the bank for continued growth,” said Diane Karusisi, Bank of Kigali CEO.
Urimube will also be responsible for the implementation of the Bank’s lending strategy, managing the loan book towards a high-quality credit portfolio, and ensuring compliance with all credit-related laws, regulations and directives.
Going by his profile, Urimube has over 10 years of experience in the banking sector, through which he held various positions.
He holds an MBA from Oklahoma Christian University, a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Statistics from the National University of Rwanda and an International Diploma in Banking Profession from the Institut Technique de Banque (ITB), Groupe CFPB - L’Ecole supérieure de la Banque, France.
