Miss Rwanda 2012, Aurore Kayibanda, and businessman Jacques Gatera celebrated their love in a stunning wedding ceremony at Marie Auxiliatrice Church on Thursday, August 15, in front of God, family, and friends.
This fairy-tale moment comes just months after their star-studded legal wedding in Phoenix, Arizona, and a week after their traditional introduction ceremony in Kigali.
Following the church vows, the couple and their guests headed to Intare Arena in Rusororo for a lavish reception, drawing some of Rwanda’s most prominent names in the creative industry.

Kayibanda&039;s wedding marks a new chapter, three years after her divorce from renowned photographer and videographer Egide Mbabazi, who gained fame after his engagement to the beauty queen in 2018.
Her new husband, Jacque Gatera, is a well-known businessman and one of Rwanda’s top amateur golfers, boasting an impressive +3 handicap. His golfing prowess has earned him multiple trophies from tournaments across the continent and beyond.

The wedding was a star-studded affair, attended by former beauty queens Meghan Nimwiza and Naomi Nishimwe, poet Rumaga, renowned gospel artist Tonzi, musician Platini P, Alex Muyoboke, and socialite Kate Bashabe, among others. The event also drew some of Rwanda’s finest golfers.
During her reign as Miss Rwanda, Aurore Kayibanda was also crowned Miss Fespam at a Pan-African beauty pageant in Congo Brazzaville and went on to represent Rwanda at the 2013 Miss Supranational in Belarus.
The New Times has learned that the celebrity couple has recently relocated to Kigali after living in the United States for several years.
