Canal + Rwanda will broadcast the biggest African football event, the Total African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2022), which kicked off in Cameroon on January 9.
The continental showpiece will run until February 6, having brought together 24 nations grouped in 6 groups.
A total of 52 matches of the league alongside the related talk shows will all be broadcast on Canal + Sport 1 and Canal + Sport 2.
Sophie Tchatchoua, the Managing Director of Canal + Rwanda said this aims at availing content to all Rwandans, regardless their affordability.
"We know that Amavubi will not be part of the contestants, but we are sure Rwandans are supporting this league of fellow Africans, so we are doing this to allow the Rwandans to follow the matches from home,” she noted.
She added Canal + Rwanda clients will also have access to the football talk shows; Jour de CAN and Soir de CAN, which air high quality interviews, highlights and analyses of the matches that take place in the tournament every day.
All the matches of the 33rd edition of AFCON will be broadcast on both Canal + Sport 1 and 2 from the start till January 20 whereas the eight last matches including the final will be aired live on Canal + Sport 1.
Football lovers will follow the games with experienced presenters and commentators including renowned Charles Mbuya, Vincent Radureau and Malick Traore among others.
The content distributor had also previously broadcast other popular football and basketball leagues in Africa and abroad.
Canal + Rwanda is a subsidiary of Canal International Group which has presence in 24 African countries with more than 200 African channels.
