Major Phablah EP ‘Intambara’ aims to fight for music

FABRICE ISHIMWE, also known as Major Phablah in the music industry is  aiming at fighting for Rwanda music and put it to a higher level through his recently released Extended Play, ‘Intambara’.

‘Intambara’  is a seven-song EP and the artiste told The New Times the reason why he decided to name it ‘War’. 

"We live in a kind of war life. This EP is all about life’s struggles first. Especially, the way we, (artistes) are always fighting to put this music to the level we want it to be on.”

The seven songs on it are; ‘Intambara’, ‘Ncaka Money’, ‘Hakuna Matata’, ‘Sinamenye’ ft Bull Dogg, ‘Babylon City’ ft Fireman and Dani Kardi, ‘No Warning’ ft Rapxolutely and B Threy, and ‘Kosora’ ft Trizzy. 

"Among all of them, five songs have their clip videos and the remaining two are coming out soon,” said Major Phablah.

In the entire production of this EP, there were three producers from different studios; Heavy Kick, OZ, and Kina Beat. talking about videos, the artiste said that he does the directing since he is so creative when it comes to his art. However, he got some hand from Director, YC Boom.

When asked what he wants the listeners to get from his EP, Phablah said, 

"I don’t want people to listen to my EP and just dance to the good music and leave. No way! I want them to digest the messages that I wanted to share with the world. Like the way, I am urging youth to fight for the best life and be courageous in working towards a brighter future.”

On why he choose those artists to be the ones on his EP, he mentioned that some legends in Hip Hop, like Bull Dogg and Fireman, were not only his favorites when he was growing up, but they were also his friends and the best in helping him to deliver the message he had. 

For him, the same applies to the young generation in the rap industry, he complimented that they are showcasing some nice talents and have beautiful messages to the audience.

Major Phablah who urged music fans to give people due recognition, shared how hard his journey has been since he has no management team and he made this project amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

"It impacted the music industry and the economy at large". 

he managed to finalize the EP in seven months. This year, the artiste plans to keep delivering high-quality music and videos to his fans.
