The good news about setting a personal plan is that you can know how important or bad you want to achieve it and the steps that may be necessary to attain it. For instance; if you’re planning to drop any habit, for example, smoking, social media addiction, unhealthy eating, lack of enough sleep, and so forth, it's essential to take the step of how to be better. You can replace that time you spend doing the habit with something constructive, it can be sports, cooking or anything else. Monitor your progress, it won’t go smoothly, but if you keep up the spirit, you can eventually achieve great results. On the days you have done well, you can credit yourself, or give yourself a treat because you need self motivation to push forward.
Get people to hold you accountable
Without people you’re answerable to, you may give up on your plan. Let someone or two know that you’re in the process of fulfilling a certain goal, and read out your plan to them so that they encourage and check on or follow up on how far you’re with it. If they’re swimming lessons, they should know how long you swim and the purpose for swimming or end goal. Check ups can just push you to stay focused.
Stay away from bad influence
It is obvious that if you want to stop a certain habit, you won’t have support from your circles especially if they’re still enjoying that same habit . You need a team that is on your side but not holding you back.
Reduce your resolutions
It’s hard fulfilling many resolutions at the same time. Instead of focusing on achieving 10 plans, how about just working on one or two at a time, that way, you can succeed in the long run.
Stay motivated
It is common to lose the morale you had in January by May or June but you need to stay motivated even when things don’t seem to go as expected. In case you want to give up, remind yourself why you want to achieve that goal in the first place.

Building a house and saving for retirement ( while you’re in your 20s) may be a plan that will take a long time to achieve. You can first start with short term plans. As you look forward to the long term. In any of the two, setting a time plan can assist you in attaining them.
