Rwanda premier league leaders SC Kiyovu will battle Bugesera FC on Wednesday looking for nothing less than a win in order to maintain top spot on the league log.

Francis Christian Haringingo’s team leads the table with 23 points, three ahead of APR who will host Espoir FC at Kigali Stadium.

APR will be hoping that SC Kiyovu drop points, which will see them go level with the Mumena based side on 23 points if they defeat Espoir.

Haringingo, who is looking for his first league title as coach, says the match represents an ideal opportunity for his side to show their title aspirations.

The Burundian coach admitted that, "We know the match will be tough because Bugesera are dangerous, so we have to be careful to avoid becoming their next big victim.”

The Mumena-based side who finished in ninth place last season has not won the league since 1993.

Meanwhile in other matches played on Tuesday, Gicumbi FC held Rayon Sports to a goalless draw, Marines defeated Etoile de l’Est FC 2-1 while Musanze and Etincelles shared the spoils after a 1-1 draw.

SC Kiyovu leads the table with 24 points while APR is second with 20 points while Rayon Sports are third place with 19 points.
