As Rwandans were celebrating Christmas in their homes yesterday December 25, Esther Briane Gateka best known as DJ Briane, chose to enjoy the day with kids from vulnerable families, by sharing lunch with them.
"Some of the kids from poor households end up begging on the streets, I was so saddened with the way most of them want to celebrate Christmas but can’t afford it. That is why I took that initiative and shared it with the children in DJ Briane Foundation and some others from the street. They are my good friends, I did all I could to get to them and when you alert them about a certain plan, they are always there on time and today we shared the Christmas lunch.” DJ Briane told The New Times.

Not only did all the 35 children enjoy their lunch, but they also received gifts that include some scholarstic materials, as a reminder that they all deserve to go to school.
Esperance Mukeshimana, a mother of three who has two kids in Briane Foundation said, "DJ Briane is a special person, to me and my family as well as to other parents who are not financially stable to provide for their kids. She came to our rescue when we failed to send our children to school.”
One of DJ Briane’s wishes is to get her foundation registered and have a working address in which all the children she supports will be calling home.
Papa Cyangwe and Marc Uwizeyimana, aka Rocky were among the celebrities who attended this event as a way to support their counterpart, DJ Briane in showing love and humanity to the kids.
