FEATURED: Prime insurance launches medical insurance product

Prime Insurance has launched an all-new international Medical healthcare product in Rwanda, to provide affordable medical insurance to Rwandans.

The launch was held at Serena Kigali Hotel on December, 17. 

The New insurance has two types that will cover wellness, optical, dental, medical second opinion, and traveller support services which can be tailored to individual or company requirements and budgets.

Two types are ‘Isonga’ for Families and individuals then the other is ‘Imena’ designed for institutions.

"We are thrilled to be launching Prime Medical Insurance. Our team has worked hard to create an international healthcare solution that not only offers international insurance and assistance capabilities, but also puts the wellbeing of its customers first.” He said

He added that this launch means that companies in Rwanda can give employees and their families’ access to the best possible overseas treatment through our in-house medical expertise and worldwide network of partners.

According to Rene Mwizere, The Medical Insurance Manager at Prime insurance said that this insurance will deliver a suite of new affordable health insurance products aimed at Rwandan Individuals, companies, and SMEs which want to protect and give peace of mind to employees and their families.

"This Medical Insurance will be harnessing its in-house insurance and assistance expertise to provide regional and international access to an extensive network of medical providers” he said

Mwizere added that Prime Medical Insurance will enable employees and their families to flexibly access medical advice, treatment, and support in Rwanda and abroad.

"Our clients will get the support also in East Africa and Europe, whenever it is needed, through Prime Insurance’s global network of health providers and in-house 24/7 medical assistance capability” he added.

Mwizere said that they believe that there is a significant opportunity to enhance the way international healthcare propositions are delivered.

Adding that by utilizing the expertise across Prime Medical Insurance’s loyalty and benefits capability, companies can now offer their employees access to the best medical treatment available at home and internationally.

The Prime Medical Insurance is scheduled to start operating on January 1, 2021 and so far 150 institutions such as pharmacies, hospitals among others have signed the contract to work with them.
