JIMMY HOUSE OF FASHION(JHF) is set to hold an exhibition with an aim of identifying and publicizing the art work of persons with disabilities on December 5, at Hill View Hotel in Rubavu.
The exhibition is designed to train persons with disabilities and help them showcase their art works internationally. Through the JHF social media platforms they will have their work advertised as well as an exhibition with various government agencies who will be invited.
Jimmy Mugunga, founder of Jimmy House of Fashion says the main reason for organising this exhibition was to show that people with disabilities are capable regardless what other people think of them.
"We have already done workshops with them and currently having a two-day program where we will be having different conversations a part from trainings to encourage them to keep working and show everyone that they can,” he says.
As the on-ongoing national week of persons with disability was launched last Friday ahead of international day of persons with disabilities, he notes that everyone should give people with disabilities the value they deserve especially with their work.
For their next project, this fashion house is set to host an online fashion contest phase 2 that will reward best models and best photogenic among others. Africalia are the official partners of the Umucyo Craft Land exhibition.
JHF is a fashion house that started in 2017 located in Rubavu district and has over the years organised different fashion competition in Rubavu.
