LIONEL KARANGWA, best known as Lil G is currently working on his seventh album ‘Uburyohe’ that talks about divorce in Rwanda.

"After seeing how divorces are increasing, I wanted to remind people that they should love each other. When people say to each other that they will be together for the rest of their lives, please keep your words and mean it. Those children may grow up asking where the mother is or the father,” he told The New Times.

Some of the songs on the album will be played on some online music platforms before he stages a concert to launch his album.

The singer, song writer, music producer, dancer and businessman started his music journey when he was 10-years old,

At he age of 17 he opened up his own studio, ‘Round Music’.

"I started doing music when I was in Primary Two. My parents were against it, but when they discovered how focused and talented I was, they gave me the green light and I promised to never disappoint them. Now they are so proud of me and I am doing whatever it takes to keep that legacy,” said Lil G.

When he started, Lil G was an independent artiste. His discipline, acoording to him, is what opened doors of opportunities which paid him well that he began saving and investing in some other businesses.

When asked what he would advise the young but talented counterparts, Lil G replied; "The very first thing is discipline. When you are focused, you don’t go away from your studies, you are you, you don’t lose yourself, don’t smoke; everybody can understand what you are about to do. Follow your own way, dream big and go for your talent.”

To the parents who are too tough to allow their children to follow their talents, the ‘Agaciro’ hit maker said, 

"Let your kids do what they want, because your child may save you tomorrow or sometime. Every business, talent or passion is meaningful. They may be on a very high level, so let them try some new opportunities out there.”

Some of his previous albums include hit songs such as ‘Nimba Umugabo’ and ‘Agaciro’.
