Kigali’s popular discotheque Planet, situated in Kigali Business Centre (KBC), was ablaze last weekend, when some local artistes staged an extraordinary concert to fundraise for their producer Jean Paul Gatsinda’s new ultra modern studio.

The concerted efforts of musicians like Rafiki Mazimpaka, a.k.a Choga Style, Tom Close, Ben, and controversial singer Kitoko, among others was ‘magical.’ This was one  of those successful concerts in the country, with our own talented musicians performing a set of rocking tracks.

The Choga man jumped on the stage clad in an acid washed jeans with a baggy T-shit, making the atmosphere in the club heavy with a grand mighty gig to the concert success.

Renowned for his hit "Igikosi”, Choga began with two track tunes from his latest albums "Bagambanibagambe”, and "Carikijyoshena”, and a medley of other tracks to come up with an incredibly extravaganza. 

Prior to his performance, Tom Close rendered a tasty set of soulful tunes as his fans danced to his artistic moves, as the singer rocked with the playback, making the concert a blast!

With a little more than a minute, famed singer Ben claimed the stage, and gave the already thrilled fans what they had anticipated.

As though, in one of his usual tactics to steal the show, Ben did some little breakthrough dance strokes to make it clear to the crowd that his music has gone to an extra mile.

Despite the fact that some of the other musicians, for example Miss JoJo, Miss Shanel and Rider Man, who turned down their producer Jay P’s invitation, the rest who performed never disappointed the audience.

They upheld their reputation for profound musicianship, delivering a first-rate collaborative concert that demonstrated newfound liveliness.

They were cheered by an excited big crowd. Everyone, young and old, VIP and the ordinary got on their feet, singing and dancing along the artistes. Man Power (MP), the suggested name for Jay P’s new studio, was worth the frw2000 every penny revelers paid.

At one point, Kitoko made girls scream their lungs out when he sang his "Ikiragi” hit track, which reveals how the singer fell in love with a beautiful girl leaving with speech impairment.

The vocalists, as usual, gave their all in an energetic set that featured some playbacks as well as artistic tunes. The music kept the pace upbeat, pounding out rocking hits with a mix of familiar and new tunes.
