Mistaek, a Rwandan musician, will release his new Extended playlist, ‘Bad News’ in December.
Real name, Zitoni Bahizi Nesta Prince, the singer plans to make his fans happy again with new sounds after releasing his latest single, Ndashona.
Mistaek is a singer, guitarist, songwriter, DJ, and many more.
He began his musical career as a DJ before enrolling in music courses at Ecole d'art de Nyundo, which opened his doors to being a musician.
"I started music a long time ago as a DJ and then later evolved to a musician. I started writing, singing, and then I learned production, it has been an amazing experience, and it still is,” said Mistaek
He released his first song, Kingkong, in 2018 with the rap group 47 Gang,.
Bahizi says his genre is ‘Free,’ which is a new genre being introduced by the Next Generation.
"Within the Free genre, you can sing in Trapp, in RNB, in Rap, in Pop and other music Genres,” said Mistaek.
His new EP, Bad News, consists of 6 to 7 songs, two of which will feature visuals.
"The EP that I am going to give you will be a whole vibe. There’s no EP similar to what I am going to give to you people,” said Mistaek talking about the extended playlist he will release.
The EP features an American singer IloveCanay and other Rwandan artistes including, Kenny Sol, Yuhi Mic, Bill Ruzima, Ayoo Rash, and Boy chopper.
Ayoo Rash being the main featured producer on the EP, other producers who worked on the sounds were Flambeau, Patooo, and Space.
The EP comes after his other playlist ‘Za Story,’ which was released last year.
"I never gave up on music but kept learning, and that’s something I am proud of. I plan to keep on doing that and take more time learning and expanding my music skills because music is life, plus I have to stay updated on music evolution,” said Mistaek.
The next generation with the ‘Free’ genre has a lot of potential, according to Bahizi.
"My boys; Yuhi Mic, Nillan YNB, Okkama, Kenny Sol, Bill Ruzima, Ayoo Rash, Dice, Kivumbi, Bushali, and many more are all in Afro Civilisation and pulling out good vibes that'll get international in a few years," Mistaek said. "But generally, the Rwandan music industry is booming at an astonishing pace," he added.
"I am most grateful for my dad and Bob Marley, who I look up to. They are a true inspiration to me,” said Mistaek.
