Kiyovu    Vs   Police

Gasogi     Vs   Rutsiro

It may be early days in the 2021/22 Rwanda premier league but many believe Friday’s clash between SC Kiyovu and Police at Kigali Stadium will show who is better-placed as a title challenger.

The match gets underway at 15:00.

Kiyovu head coach Francis Haringingo has touted his side as ‘one of the league favorites’ but he is also well aware Police will be looking to bounce back following their 0-2 home loss to Espoir FC before the international break.

Similarly, the Mumena-based Green Baggies are also fighting to get back on track after suffering a humiliating 4-0 defeat to AS Kigali on match-day 2.

Commenting about the game, Haringingo said: "It is an important fixture, and it is always tough. Police are a strong team with good players and a coach, but we will be out to avoid mistakes that can lead us to a second consecutive loss.”

In a separate interview, Police coach Frank Nuttall urged his players to be cautious.

"We expect strong opposition, we need to be well-organized defensively and efficient in the attack. You cannot stay in the race if you fail to take points from your closest challengers,”

He added: "We want to win and stay close to the top.”

Elsewhere on Friday, Gasogi United will be up against Rutsiro at 12:30.

The game will also be held at Kigali Stadium.
