The Rwanda Basketball Federation (Ferwaba) has announced the selected squads for the 2021 All-star game, where Patriot’s small forward Dieudonné Ndizeye and Rwanda Energy Group (REG)’s shooting guard Olivier Shyaka will captain the teams.
Shyaka, 26, had a remarkable season, playing a big role as REG won the national league and secured a ticket to the Basketball Africa League (BAL).
Ndizeye also played a key role for his team Patriots as they made it to the playoff finals where they were beaten by REG.
Scheduled for November 20 at the Kigali Arena, the All-star game will also feature a three-point and slam dunk contest.
On the night, Nigerian singer Divine Ikubor, known by his stage name Rema, is expected to perform.
REG’s head coach Henry Mwinuka will coach Team Ndizeye assisted by IPRC Kigali’s tactician John Bahufite, while Patriot’s Bernard 'Ben' Oluoch will coach Team Shyaka, assisted by APR’s Cliff Owuor.
Ferwaba has announced the 24 players that make up the two teams.
