A group of athletes who will represent Rwanda at the Paralympics is set to depart for Paris, France on Tuesday, August 13 to participate in the games which will take place from August 28 to September 8.
The Rwandan delegation includes the national women's sitting volleyball team, and Emmanuel Niyibizi, a track and field athlete who will compete in the 1500 metres’ category.

In the sitting volleyball competition, Rwanda will face Brazil in their opening match on August 29, followed by Slovenia on August 31. The team’s final Group B match will be against Canada on September 3.
Rwanda’s only Paralympic medal to date was won by Jean de Dieu Nkundabera, who took bronze in the 800 meters at the 2004 Athens games.

This will be Rwanda’s third appearance in the Paralympic games, following previous participation in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.
