Former Amavubi striker Ernest Sugira has joined Kiyovu Sports Club on a one-year deal.

The 33-year-old who previously played for AS Kigali and APR among other teams, has struggled with injuries and spent almost a year out of action.

"I am going to do all my best to help my team to win many games. But first, I need to work hard to get back to full fitness,” he said upon joining Kiyovu.

Other new players who have joined the club ahead of the upcoming season include goalkeepers Djihad Nzeyurwanda and Patrick Ishimwe, as well as front players like Karim Mackenzie Nizeyimana, Bahati Guy Kazindu, Régis Mbonyingabo, Olivier 'Timbo' Twahirwa, and Djuma Nizeyimana.

Burundian players Cédric Amissi and Jospin Nshimirimana are also new players added to Kiyovu’s squad.

Kiyovu SC will start the 2024/25 league campaign with a game vs AS Kigali on Friday, August 16, 9 PM at Kigali Pelé Stadium.
