Renowned Afro-Pop artiste Adekunle Gold is in Kigali to headline Movember Fest which will be held tomorrow at canal Olympia Rebero.
It’s the first time Rwanda is hosting a mega show featuring a foreign celebrity since the outbreak of covid-19.
Movember Fest will also feature local artistes such as Kenny Sol, who is behind hits like ‘Umurego’, and Gibiro Guitar known for his hit song ‘Igikwe’.
During a presser held on Thursday, Adekunle said that he fell in love with Rwanda because of the nice views and welcoming people.
In addition, he promised all music lovers to deliver the best during his live performance tomorrow.
"It’s going to be a crazy show,” he said.
Although he will be performing for the first time in Rwanda, The 'AG Baby' hit maker is not new to Rwandan music as he revealed to journalists that he knows some Rwandan artistes like Bruce Melodie and Kenny Sol, from a song called ‘My Formula’.
For Kenny Sol, one of the performers, this is going to "be a night to remember."
He said that he is not only excited to entertain a big crowd, but also share a stage with one of the best AfroBeat singers on the continent.
Gabiro Guitar, one of the other artistes expected to perform at Movember Fest, also expressed his excitement for being able to perform again in public, after almost two years without physical shows.
"Tomorrow is a big day for Afro culture. I'm going to give my fans a mash-up of all the hits I made during the lockdown. Let’s all meet tomorrow and celebrate good music,” he told the press.
According to Remmy Lubega of RG Consult, the organisers of the show, the company is bringing back the old lifestyle of partying in Kigali, and this is just the beginning.
"We have been indoors for a long time, and it’s time to shine and experience the old vibes of having different celebrities partying in town. RG Consult is back like it never left,” Lubega told the press during a presser.
The event will be open to the public and only people who will present the covid-19 negative test results will be allowed to attend.
Tickets for the event are available at Rwf10, 000 for regular, Rwf20, 000 VIP and Rwf30, 000 for VVIP areas with covid-19 fees inclusive.
Movember Fest follows a successful show, ‘Trappish concert’ that thrilled many music lovers last weekend in Kigali.
