Experienced Rwandan striker Meddie Kagere was the hero of the day as his last-gasp goal secured the three maximum points for Simba SC against Namugo at the Benjamin Mkapa Sports Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Simba had labored throughout the game until Kagere who had replaced John Raphael Bocco netted the winner in the 95th minute.
Kagere who was lurking in the penalty box of Namugo connected with a glancing header into the net after his side had won a free kick on the left side of midfield.
The goal was a big relief for Simba FC as they hope to amass the needed points in their quest to wrestle the title from Young Africans SC.
The win was the second in three games for Rwandan gaffer Thierry Hitimana who took over from Da Rosa as the head coach of the club last week.
