The Hoops Rwanda women basketball club are keen to put up a strong fight as they seek to win their first title at the upcoming FIBA Africa Zone Five Club Championship slated for November 16-21 in Tanzania.
The Hoops’s participation is due to the fact that they were supposed to represent Rwanda in the same competition last year, but due to the Covid-19 epidemic, it did not take place.
That is why they will be allowed to take part in the 2021 tournament.
In an interview with Times Sport, The Hoops’ Patrick Habiyambere said his target is the title and believes his players can become champions.
"We are targeting the title which is why we started preparations earlier and I’m confident in my players. The least we can settle for is reaching the semi-finals,” Habiyambere said.
REG will also represent the country after winning the national league title this year.
