Patriots 77-59 Espoir

APR men’s basketball team won the inaugural Rwanda Cup after defeating rivals Rwanda Energy Group (REG) 110-92 in the final on Friday night at Lycée de Kigali Gymnasium.

The two teams served the fans with a tightly contested first half, with APR winning the first quarter 30-25, before REG bounced back to take the second one 25-24.

In the third quarter, APR outplayed REG, winning by 33-10.

Though REG fought back and won the final quarter 32-23, it was not enough to give them a comeback.

APR’s American point guard Isaiah Miller was the game&039;s high scorer with 43 points, while teammates Jean Jacques Wilson Nshobozwabyosenumukiza and Osborn Shema added 23 points each.

Meanwhile, Patriots Basketball Club finished third in the tournament after defeating Espoir 77-59 in the third-place game.

Established this year, the Rwanda Cup aims to increase the number of competitions and teams in the country, fostering player development and raising overall performance standards.

This year’s edition featured 17 men’s teams divided into four groups (A, B, C, and D).
