Rwanda’s under 19 female cricket team will play against England in the inaugural T20 ICC Cricket U19 World Cup slated for South Africa from January 14-29, 2023.
Rwanda is in Group B with Pakistan, Zimbabwe, as well as England and will lock horns with the latter in the second Group game on January 19, 2023.
Rwanda defeated Tanzania by six wickets in the final of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier in September 2022 to book their place in the global event.
In all, 16 teams will compete for the glittering trophy in the first edition of the competition.
Rwanda will count on the likes of Henriette Ishimwe who was the star in the final qualifier against Tanzania as they hope to make it big in South Africa.
Ishimwe put up a superb performance which included going 17 times unbeaten with the bat in the game. Her output helped Rwanda to win the finals.
