The China-Rwanda friendship photography contest has entered a stage of online voting.
Launched last month by the Chinese embassy in Rwanda as one of the activities for marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries, the photography context is aimed at showcasing some of the numerous moments and stories regarding the two countries' relations, in addition to presenting the aspects of Rwanda’s uniqueness.
China and Rwanda established diplomatic relations on November 12, 1971.
According to information from the Chinese embassy, since the official launch of the photo contest, it has gained wide support from all walks of life from both Rwanda and China.
"The Chinese Embassy in Rwanda conducted one month of photo works gathering and preliminary evaluation of all works collected, which were done by well-known photographers and experienced judges from the press of both Chinese and Rwandan sides," read a statement from the embassy.
There are 30 high-quality works standing out after the preliminary evaluation, and the contest now enters online voting stage.
To vote, you can follow these instructions:
1. Voting duration
Voting starts from October 20 at 9am and ends on October 30 at 12pm.
2. Voting procedures
Visit http://photos.v.vote8.cn/ by using your computers or mobile phones, and select the photos that you want to vote for.
You are also welcome to leave your opinions and comments.
After selecting your favourate photos, click "vote" button and finish the voting.
3. Voting rules
Each person is allowed to vote only once in a single day, choosing up to 5 works (photos) for voting.
Vicious repeated voting is not allowed.
The online voting will be an important basis for the final result of the contest. The Chinese Embassy cordially invites you to participate and leave your valuable vote.
