The cricket national team assistant coach Adelin Tuyizere is positive that Rwanda is ready to put their recent poor results aside and bounce back to win their remaining games of the ongoing World Cup Qualifiers, starting with Seychelles on Tuesday.

Rwanda on Saturday lost their opening game of the qualifiers against Ghana by 5 wickets before falling to another shock defeat against Uganda by 106 runs on Sunday.

The two defeats left head coach Martin Suji and his team exposed after failing to cope with the opposition during the qualifiers, something that saw their hopes of booking a ticket to the World Cup Africa qualifiers in jeopardy.

However, Tuyizere is positive that the national team’s disappointing run of results have made his team to learn lessons that could help them get better results in future fixtures.

"We weren’t able to win any of our past two games. We played Uganda trying to bounce back from our opening loss against Ghana and we knew they are an even tougher opponent for us,” Tuyizere said.

"We thought we could surpass the number of runs registered by Uganda in the first inning but we lost wickets in the early stages and we eventually lost the game,” he added.

Tuyizere is confident he and his teammates can turn things around in the next four fixtures of the World Cup qualifiers.

"The players are not happy with the results and so are our supporters but we hope the lessons that we learned in the past two games will help us get a better result in the remaining fixtures,” he said.

Ghana, who have so far won all their three qualifying games, lead the table with six points, two points ahead of second-placed Uganda who are also unbeaten in the past two games while Rwanda sit sixth without a single point.

The hosts play their third qualifying game against Seychelles on Tuesday, October 19, and a win would bring them back in the race for a ticket to the World Cup Africa.

"If we win all our remaining games, we can still have the chance of qualifying and wait for Ghana and Uganda’s results,” he said.
