Renowned singer Social Mula will entertain music lovers with a live performance at the ongoing Iwacu Muzika Festival 2021 scheduled for this Saturday, October 16.
This virtual event take place at Kigali Arena and, as usual, will be broadcast live on Rwanda Television at 8:45pm.
Social Mula, real name Lambert Mugwaneza will headline this festival’s season three after a year of releasing hits like ‘Yayobye’, ‘Marigarita’ and featuring in ‘Amata’ by Phil Peter, ‘Ndabazi’ by Marina and ‘Akantu’ by Knowless among others.
Upon being confirmed to grace the festival for the third time, Social Mula told The New Times that he is ready to put on a good show
"I thank East African Promoters (EAP) for this yearly festival for artistes most especially during the times concerts were banned due to the pandemic. I have been able to entertain my fans exactly like I wanted to, but the festival is a chance to show where I stand at the moment and what I have done so far.
"Even though the festival will not be live with my fans there but at least my fans will get to see a great performance as usual, well recorded,” the "Ndiho” star said.
The singer, 28, said that he is working on his a new extended play (EP) with at least six songs, not later than December, this year. He points out that he has been busy making videos of some songs on the new EP to come.
He will headline the festival, following previous performances by Platini who opened the festival on June 26, RDF Military Band, Mani Martin, Cyusa Ibrahim, Peace Jolis and Naason Solist and Edouce Softman, Bruce Melodie, Israel Mbonyi, a double experience with Bushali and Bluestone, Yverry, Marina and Mbanda, Abdul Makanyaga and a double experience of Symphony Band and Bosco Niyo, Uncle Austin and Aline Gahongayire who performed last Saturday.
Iwacu Muzika Festival, which seeks to promote the Rwandan music industry bringing together different artistes in their age brackets on the same stage, is organized by East African Promoters, in partnership with the ministry of Youth and Culture, Tembera u Rwanda, RBA, among others.
