Organised by Hoops Genesis Ventures in partnership with the Rwanda Basketball Federation (FERWABA), the camp is an initiative of Hoops Genesis Ventures (HGV), a company that manages and runs various football and basketball leagues in India.

Innocent Kwizera, a basketball coach and founder of HGV, emphasised the camp’s role in fostering belief among young sportsmen and women, so that they can excel in the game regardless of their background.

In addition, he highlighted that the camp not only focuses on teaching basketball but also aims to discover hidden talents in areas such as leadership, public speaking, art, and drama.

"With the future of Rwanda in mind, we are steadily putting together a team of like-minded individuals whose goal is to boost the confidence of the youth and provide educational opportunities through scholarships for promising students,” he noted.

The camp intends to establish a youth community or school in Rwanda that caters for young people from diverse backgrounds.
