China’s T1 LEAGUE Xinbei has announced the signing of Rwanda international Prince Ibeh.

Born of Nigerian parents in the U.K and raised in the U.S, the 26-year-old center holds British citizenship, but has also acquired Rwandan citizenship.

He represents Rwanda in international basketball, and was part of the roster that played the 2021 African Basketball Championship (Afrobasket) finals in Kigali.

Speaking about his new deal in China, Ibeh said he was optimistic about quickly adapting to the club’s playing style since he played in Asia before.

"I also had previous experience playing in Asia, in the Japanese B League. Adapting to the Asian style of rapid offensive and defensive transitions will not be a problem for me.”

Ibeh has played basketball in various countries including the U.S where he played for the University of Texas, before heading to Japan, then the Philippines, Germany, and in England with the Plymouth Raiders.
