The Private Sector Federation (PSF) is to facilitate 45 participants in the first phase of the 105th Guangzhou Trade Fair in China that is scheduled to start on the 15th of this month.
This is China’s import and export fair and the largest trade fair that converges Chinese cream of companies and multinationals of Asia.
Preserving its tradition, the fair, also referred to as the ‘Canton Fair’ is a comprehensive and multi-functional event of international importance.
"At Canton Fair, various types of business activities such as economic and technical cooperation and exchanges, commodity inspection, insurance, transportation, advertising and consultation take place in a more competitive manner which enables us to learn lessons,” said Nasta Munara at the Permanent Expo Secretariat.
Since 2006, PSF has regularly organised the business community to participate in the canton fair in China. In 2006, the size of the delegation to Canton fair totalled to 30 business people while in 2007, the number grew to 40 people and last year it was 38.
PSF facilitates the business people through offering them with information opportunities, help them secure visas easily, booking them air tickets and accommodation.
The main objectives of this fair is to facilitate business people to access the huge Chinese market to explore trade opportunities and forge trade partnerships with Chinese as well as exposing business people to best trade and exhibition practices.
This year Rwanda has participated in two international exhibitions including the Cairo International Trade Fair and the Uganda International Trade Show.
"Organising Rwandese business people to participate in a number of regional and international trade fairs is a mandate for PSF,.” said Munara.
