Budding Rwandan referee Samuel Uwikunda will be at the helm of affairs when Ghana host Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, on September 5 in an AFCON 2025 qualifiers game.

Uwikunda, who is gradually rising as one of the best referees from the CECAFA region, will work with fellow countrymen Dieudonne Mutuyimana and Eric Mugabo as assistant referees, as well as Ruzindana Nsoro as the 4th official.
The 27-year-old referee was among the 32 centre referees who officiated at AFCON 2023 in Cote D'Ivoire. He has been involved in CAF competitions for the past seven years.

The last time Ghana and Angola met was in March last year in the AFCON qualifiers. The Black Stars won 1-0 courtesy of Antoine Semenyo's 96th minute strike.
