Renowned gospel singer Aline Gahongayire is set to entertain gospel music lovers with a live performance at the ongoing Iwacu Muzika Festival scheduled for today, October 09.
This virtual event will take place at Kigali Arena and, as usual, will be broadcast live on Rwanda Television at 8:45pm.
The gospel music icon started her music career in 2000 at Zion Temple but she decided to embark on a solo career in 2008 and has since never looked back. Over the years, Gahongayire has not just been making music, she has also been part of different projects to help women and the needy. She is the founder of Ndineza organization that promotes welfare activities to help the society.
"It is such a blessing to perform in times when concerts are not happening like before. I will give my best just to bless many people through my music.
"During the pandemic and lockdowns, I had time to reflect and work on different projects and I believe it’s about time I show them to my fans. I am working on my next album and live recordings that I hope to share very soon. I want also to make part two of my ‘meet and talk’ project,” Gahongayire said.
The "Nzakomeza” hit maker is known for many other gospel songs like ‘Ntabanga’, ‘Ndanyuzwe’, ‘Izindi Mbaraga featuring Bosco Niyo and 'Asante' featuring Knowless Butera among others.
She will headline the festival, following previous performances by Platini who opened the festival on June 26, RDF Military Band, Mani Martin, Cyusa Ibrahim, Peace Jolis and Naason Solist and Edouce Softman, Bruce Melodie, Israel Mbonyi, a double experience with Bushali and Bluestone, Yverry, Marina and Mbanda, Abdul Makanyaga and a double experience of Symphony Band, Bosco Niyo and Uncle Austin who performed last Saturday.
Iwacu Muzika Festival, which seeks to promote the Rwandan music industry bringing together different artistes in their age brackets on the same stage, is organized by East African Promoters, in partnership with the ministry of Youth and Culture, Tembera u Rwanda, RBA, among others.
