Lion de Fer vs  Grizzlies

After losing overwhelmingly to Remera buffaloes in the opening fixture the campaign, Grizzlies RFC will be looking to make amends when they play Lion de Fer tomorrow at Circle Sportif grounds in Rugunga.

The National University of Rwanda side were thumped 95-0 three weeks ago in the only match that has been played so far this season.

However, Alphonse Umugire, their team head coach is confident going into tomorrow’s game and believes his players have the ability to respond positively after that heavy defeat on the opening weekend.

"Some of my players were playing rugby for the first time because most of the players we had last season had left either after completing their university courses of joined other clubs.

"And also, Buffaloes have loads of experience in addition to the fact that they had recruited some new good players from Uganda, where rugby is more advanced,” Umugire told Times Sport.

He added, "But after intensive training and rectifying some of the mistakes we made in the first game, we are confident of beating Lion de Fer.”

In today’s fixtures, Sharks host Simba at Circle Sportif in the morning while Tigers take on Gorillas at the same venue in the afternoon.

Remera Buffaloes lead the league table with 5 points following their impressive 95-0 win in the only one match played so far.
