After jetting off to Nigeria, renowned Rwandan musician Platini P has started a media tour in Lagos, Nigeria. This comes after he was nominated for the MTV Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) in best African Artiste category.
Not long ago, Platini, real name Platini Nemeye, started working with Nigerian company, One Percent, which has been helping him promote his music on a global scale. According to Platini, his visit is basically a media tour to grow his brand.
"After being nominated for AFRIMA, I wanted to visit the place, and promote my music,” he says.
He says that he has so far visited four radio stations and is planning to tour a total of 10.
Platini tells Weekender that he started his media tour on a radio channel called Inspiration FM Lagos. He was later hosted by different top radio stations in including Kiss FM Lagos, City FM and Max FM.
In a previous interview with this paper, the ‘Shumelata’ hit maker revealed that he will also perform at the awards ceremony. Nigeria remains the music hub of Africa with some of the continent’s greatest artistes like Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage and Davido.
Some of Platini’s hits include ‘Veronica’ and ‘Atansiyo’ which were also nominated for awards.
