Ghanaian midfielder James Akaminko is likely to stay at Tanzanian powerhouse Azam FC despite earlier agreeing a loan move to Rayon Sports.

Times Sport understands that Azam FC has made a U-turn and decided to keep him for the upcoming season, having impressed the team’s new head coach Youssouph Dabo.

Initially, the 28-year-old defensive midfielder was not in Dabo’s plans, but he reportedly caught the tactician's eye recently during a friendly game Azam FC played with Rayon Sports on Rayon Day this month.

Elsewhere, Gorilla FC have signed experienced left back Eric Rutanga on a one-year deal after he left Police FC.
