Former Police FC skipper Eric Rutanga has completed a two-year move to Gorilla FC.

Rutanga is one of the best players of his generation. He has played for top clubs in the country including Rayon Sports, Police and APR FC, as well as the national team.

He is one of the products of the Rwanda U17 national team that competed at the 2011 FIFA U17 World Cup in Mexico.

Prior to his 2016 move to Rayon Sports, he had won three league titles and two Peace Cups with APR in a period of four years.

With Rayon, he won two league titles and played a big role as the Blues reached the quarter-finals of the 2018 CAF Confederations Cup – the first and only time by any Rwandan team.

Last season, he won the Peace Cup with Police.

At Gorilla FC, he is linking up with a couple of new players signed by the team including Blaise Nishimwe, Yves Mugunga and others.

Gorilla FC will kick off the 2024/25 season by hosting Vision FC on August 15.
