The women’s national basketball team has departed for Mali to play two friendly games in preparation for the FIBA World Cup preliminary qualifiers which will take place in Kigali from August 19 to 25.

The team flew out on the morning of Wednesday, August 7, and will arrive in Bamako, the Malian capital, on the same day.
After having some rest, they will play two friendly games against the Malian women’s national team on August 9 and 11.
The team is expected to return to Kigali on August 13 for one more build-up game against Senegal before the preliminary qualifiers get underway.

Since last month, the team has embarked on a training camp to get ready for the pre-qualifiers where it will be up against Great Britain, Argentina and Lebanon in Group D.
