R&B singer Uncle Austin is set to entertain music lovers with a live performance at the ongoing Iwacu Muzika Festival 2021 scheduled for today, October 02.
This virtual event will take place at Kigali Arena and, as usual, will be broadcast live on Rwanda Television at 8:45pm.
Uncle Austin, real name Austin Luwano Butoyi is a musician and a radio presenter will headline the festival after a year of hard work and a handful of hit songs.
After a hit collabo with Ugandan singer Ykee Benda, Austin released a single dubbed ‘Dupfa iki?’ which he says was written a few years back and shelved.
"Life is already hard but then some few people try to make it harder for you and all you can do is wonder why they are against you”, he says.
The song tells people to stop the hatred and support each other. His other songs also include ‘Buhoro’, ‘Ibihe Byose’, So Fresh’, and ‘Slow’, among others.
He will headline the festival, following previous performances by Platini who opened the festival on June 26, RDF Military Band, Mani Martin, Cyusa Ibrahim, Peace Jolis, Naason Solist and Edouce Softman, Bruce Melodie, Israel Mbonyi, a double experience with Bushali and Bluestone, Yverry, Marina and Mbanda, Abdul Makanyaga and a double experience of Symphony Band and Bosco Niyo who performed last Saturday.
Iwacu Muzika Festival, which seeks to promote the Rwandan music industry bringing together different artistes in their age brackets on the same stage, is organised by East African Promoters, in partnership with the ministry of Youth and Culture, Tembera u Rwanda, RBA, among others.
