A host of leagues around the world are already underway, while others are set to begin this month.

Rwandan players had good outings over the weekend as, among other highlights, Quentin Rushenguziminega and Lague Byiringiro were on target for their respective clubs.

Jojea Kwizera, Djihad Bizimana and Clement Twizere Buhake also featured for their clubs.

Sweden

In Sweden, Rwandan winger Lague Byiringiro came from the bench to net the fourth goal for Sandviken IF in the 97th minute as they beat Gefle 4-0 in the second tier league on Saturday, August 3 at the Jernvallen Arena.

His compatriot Yannick Mukunzi was not in the Sandviken squad while Rafael York came in for Gefle in the 68th minute.

In the Swedish third tier league, Torre Rafael was an unused substitute for his team Orebro Syrianska as they lost 3-2 to Karlberg.

Elsewhere in Sweden, winger Kaleleo Wimbabazi saw 46 minutes of action for his team Pitea who suffered a 6-0 by Karlstad.

Norway

In the Norwegian topflight, midfielder Beltran Nishimwe replaced Jakob Dunsby in the 86th minute as his club Sandefjord lost 2-1 to Sarpsborg on Sunday, August 4.

Meanwhile in the third tier league, goalkeeper Clement Twizere Buhake was substituted in the 75th minute as his club Ull/Kisa was 4-0 up against Junkeren. They went on and won the match 5-1.

Belgium

In Belgium, midfielder Hakim Sahabo missed Standard Liege’s 1-0 win over Club Brugge at Stade Maurice Dufrasne on Sunday, August 4 due to knee injury.

USA

In the USA, Jojea Kwizera had a good game on the left wing as he saw 77 minutes of action for his team Rhode Island FC in a 1-1 draw with Detroit City.

Rhode Island are unbeaten in their last 8 games and have moved to 8th place on the league table with 29 points.

Ukraine

In Ukraine, Amavubi skipper Djihad Biimana replaced Yurii Vakulko in the 84th minute as his side FC Kryvbas pipped Chornomorets 1-0 in the country’s topflight.

Switzerland

In the Swiss fourth tier league, forward Rushenguziminega found the back of the net for FC Echallens in the 10th minute as they beat FC Koeniz 4-0.

New signing Hugo Bigirimana was not in the match day squad of Neuchatel Xamax as they beat Aarau 3-1.

Latvia

In Latvia, central defender Dylan Maes the full match for FS Jelgava who lost 4-0 to Valmeira.

Preseason Games

In preseason games, forward Noam Emeran saw 73 minutes of action for Groningen who bet Heracles Almelo 2-0 in the Netherlands.
