Hip-hop artiste B Threy, on Saturday, headlined the "Citizens Mobilization by Music performance," organised by the Office of the Ombudsman of Rwanda and Delegation of the European Union to Rwanda as part of The Anti-Corruption and Anti-Injustice Campaign.
The singer, real name Betrand Muheto, was the third to perform at the campaign, after Riderman who debuted the campaign and Nina who headlined it the second time.
Luckman Nzeyimana who was the show’s host, welcomed B Threy on the stage at 5 pm. Donned in a black short, red shirt, black vest and black shoes, the Kinyatrap genre pioneer showed up on stage in "Hama Hamwe" backed by Angello from Ratio Music.
"The show was so amazing not only for me but also for the entire KinyaTrap genre and it really is a dream come true as we share our message to the community,” B Threy said about the show.
As he went on, "Nyumvira" which is a feature by DJ Toxxyk and 96, was the next song followed by "Inzira" together with Symphony Band Music. He expressed his gratitude to Ratio Music, his Label from which the "Nihe", "Igitebo cya Shanel" and many more others were produced.
Talking to this publication after the concert, B Threy explained how he was approached by the event organizers and in the beginning it was supposed to be the live roadshow concerts, but due to Covid-19 it happened to be on RTV instead.
He added, "Getting the calls from the Anti-Corruption and Anti-Injustice authority was such an honor and I strongly believe that it is because of the talent they saw in me, the discipline as well as the audience engagement that KinyaTrap can generate.”
He called on everyone, especially the media practitioners to expose whoever portrays corruption and injustice as well. "We are all here now for the fight against corruption, whether you are in Rwanda or abroad, remember that corruption sets back development and increases injustice. Let's fight against any kind of corruption and injustice. Let's use our digital platforms for good, let's put our phones to use and report whoever commits any of the two crimes, corruption and injustice by calling 199," said B Threy in the middle of the concert.
He also performed "Inshabure ya Gucci" and "Sindaza" which he did when he was still under Green Ferry Music amongst others. He ended the show by calling on everyone to have a patriotism spirit which can’t tolerate corruption and injustice at all.
