Ferwafa has set tomorrow, Thursday April 16 as the new date for the Amahoro Cup preliminary round first leg match between Mukura and Gisovu at Huye stadium, Southern Province.
Initially the match was supposed to have been played on Saturday April 4 along with the other first leg fixtures, but wasn’t played after the hosts, Mukura failed to raise a full team on grounds that the majority of their first team payers were carrying injuries.
The football federation through its Chief Executive Officer Jules Kalisa had promised to carryout thorough investigations on Mukura’s claims. He said the club needed to submit enough evidence to back up their reasoning for not honoring the fixture.
"They need to bring the medical reports confirming that majority of their first team players were actually injured, today (yesterday).
"If they can do and we’re convinced by the evidence provided, then the match will be played on Thursday as planned,” Kalisa told this paper yesterday.
In a separate phone interview with Times Sport, Mukura president Abraham Nayandi said that he had already submitted the medical reports to the authorities (Ferwafa) though he could not confirm exactly when.
"We submitted the evidence (medical reports) to the federation; that is why they (Ferwafa) wrote on their website that the match will be played on Thursday.
"Gisovu have already confirmed that they will come for the match,” Nayandi confirmed.
