DOMINIQUE NGABONZIZA, known professionally as Dr. Nganji, is set to collaborate with fast-rising artistes on an ongoing project, where he will be releasing a single every Friday of the week from September 3, to December 17, according to a press release from Green Ferry Music record label.
The mixtape will be produced and distributed by Green Ferry Music record label, with guest appearances from Mucyo, MaestroBoomin, Og2tone, RodB, Kclamp, Bushali, Ririmba, Ish Kevin, Icenova, Pro Zed, Angelo Jawanzaa, and Arnaud Gray, among others.
According to Dr. Nganji, the main aim of the project is to collaborate with talented musicians without boundaries.
"‘Overdoze’ Mixtape is an individual record, a compilation of my favorite pieces of music, featuring many different musicians from Rwanda on one tape” said Dr. Nganji
He believes that Rwanda has good artistes, and since he is surrounded by many, he thinks that the world could experience the light work from each of the featured singers through this mixtape.
"Personally, I would say that I am so lucky and happy to be able to start the process of creating ‘Overdoze.’ I am really proud of the abilities of artistes on this Mixtape and all the work they put into making it a success”.
"It’s exciting because not only am I giving fans the best of me on each track as a producer, I am giving them the sight of their favorite artistes in a completely different zone” he added.
Dr.Nganji who is also a recording engineer and entrepreneur said that each song on the project has a unique production process and collaborations, as artistes are diverse.
He is also credited to be the pioneer of a subgenre of hip hop music called "Kinyatrap", a local variation of Trap Music, In which local artistes rap in Kinyarwanda over trap melodies.
Some of his past light works include Bushali's debut album ‘Nyiramubande’ and "After Doze", an album that he produced in 2019.
