Former Kibuye Fc goalkeeper Ibrahim Kongo has been axed by Uganda’s Premier League side, SC Simba, two months after deserting Rwandan side.

Kongo who had been recruited by Simba last month was given the sack on Monday by Simba coach, Sam Ssimbwa, formerly coach of Atraco Fc after the veteran custodian made high school blunders in a pre-season build-up game against SC Villa.

According to Uganda’s vernacular paper, Bukeede, new SC Villa signing Ronald Lubega dribbled beat off defender Sula Ssebbunza to unleash strong a direct shot which Kongo ducked, forcing Ssimbwa to substitute him immediately.

It is reported that Ssimbwa was depressed by the way Kongo kept the safety of the goal terming it as abnormal.

Simba who lost 0-3 to Villa is faced with goal keeping problems after their top keeper; Sam Kawalya departed the club recently to rivals Victor FC while Benjamin Ekusai has not recovered from the shoulder injury.

Simba had recruited both Kongo and Kawalya to boost its goalkeeping department ahead of the 2007/2008 National Super League season.

Newly recruited "Mourinho” Ssimbwa has promised to transform his side from giant killers into a league title winning club.

The former Cranes winger who guided Express FC to a Kakungulu Cup triumph and also helped them survive relegation last season, switched to Simba on a two year contract in the off season.
