Star guard Chad Bowie Jordan posted a game high 30 points as Kepler basketball club overcame United Generation (UGB) 90-85 in Rwanda Basketball League on Sunday, August 4, at Lycee de Kigali Gymnasium.

The win moved Kepler into third place with 27 points, leapfrogging REG who dropped to fourth place with 26 points.

Yves Murenzi’s UGB started brightly, taking a narrow 23-22 lead in the opening quarter, but Kepler bounced back to claim the second quarter 25-21 go into half-time leading the game 47-44.

Back in the second half, UGB dominate the third quarter 23-18 and reclaimed the lead with one more quarter to play. But it was Kepler who laughed last when they claimed the final quarter 25-18 to take home a hard-fought victory which increased their chances of finishing in the regular season in the top four.

Besides Bowie’s remarkable performance while his teammate Done Carlos Alejandro contributed 15 points to the winning cause.

On the UGB side, Patrick Ronald Rembert scored a team high 35 points, 2 rebounds and seven assists while Milosevic Nemanja and Shaffi Habineza added 27 and 12 points respectively.

In the earlier matches, APR maintained their top spot on the league standings with 33 points following a 104-62win over Tigers while Kigali Titans registered their only second win of the league campaign after defeating Orion 76-68.
