RWANDA national volleyball team will face Burkina Faso on Thursday in game two of Group A at Kigali Arena, in a must-win fixture that will see them land a ticket to the quarter finals of the 2021 Africa men’s volleyball championship in Kigali.

The hosts, on Tuesday, easily swept Burundi by a 3-0 win (25-15, 25-19 and 25-17) to get off to a winning start while Burkina Faso lost their opening game against Uganda.

Captain Lawrence Yakan Guma told Times Sport that he and his teammates are going into Thursday’s game against the Western Africans with the lone goal to beat them and automatically stand a chance to secure a spot in the top two of Group A.

"We started the tournament with a win in the first game, and we want to get yet another victory against Burkina Faso so we can get an early ticket to the quarter finals,” said Lawrence

"Our team has experienced players who have participated in big competitions and we all have the same goal of advancing to the next stages. We want to stay at the top,” the veteran added.

After playing against Burkina Faso, Rwanda will play their final group A game against Uganda.
